The Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Analyst will support M&S efforts to include tool identification, evaluation, recommendation, and application supporting USSTRATCOM/J7 Joint Training and Exercise Directorate.


Analyst will bring an integrated approach to USSTRATCOM mission areas in order to provide, training, analysis, and assessment of training and exercises.


Support the selection and implementation of computer models or alternative analysis tools for assessment, training, wargaming, experimentation, concept development, prototyping, and other analytical efforts; subject to program requirements and constraints.  


Support the design, development, and application of M&S tools which integrate other tools for assessment, training, wargaming, experimentation, concept development, prototyping, and other analytical efforts.  This includes the validation and verification (V&V) process.


Utilize geospatial analysis tools, visualization software, and M&S software related to each USSTRATCOM mission area.


Support the development of use cases, user scenarios, and concepts of operations; generate assumptions and scenarios necessary to create complex simulation models.


Support interpretation of M&S results to inform solution selection and risk mitigation; articulate the limitations and uncertainty of analyses and convey these to customer. 


Required Skills

  • Demonstrated advanced understanding of mathematics and physics through education or work experience in a mathematical field such as physics, mathematics, engineering, modeling and simulation, or equivalent discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience with M&S tools such as Systems Toolkit (STK), Integrated Space Situational Awareness - Analyst Version (ISSA-AV), Extended Air Defense Simulation (EADSIM), ArcGIS, and/or Ballistic Missile Defense International Simulation (BMD I-Sim).
  • Work experience with Distributed Interactive Simulation and High Level Architecture protocols.
  • Demonstrated work experience with M&S theory, techniques, and best-practices.
  • 5 years of DoD/Industry experience in the M&S technical field.
  • 5 years of experience in technical solution development for complex problems.
  • 2 years of experience in software & algorithm development.
  • 2 years of experience in manipulating data in one or more modern languages or environments, such as: Python, Java, C++, SAS, R, MATLAB.
  • At least 2 years’ experience supporting military training and exercises or equivalent experience using distributed interactive simulations.
  • Hands on experience in one or more USSTRATCOM missions areas.
  • Possess the ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) and be able to present arguments in a clear and logical manner.
  • Demonstrated strengths in critical thinking, collaboration, technical writing, preparation of high-quality technical documents and briefs for publication or distribution.

Educational Requirements: Bachelors degree in a related area is highly desired.


Clearance Requirements: Top Secret clearance is required; eligible for SCI
