(MTSI) is seeking a Senior Operations Specialist to support the Army’s Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office by providing expertise to the RCCTO’s Business Manager and Business Management Office.  This position will be located in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

Responsibilities

MTSI is seeking a Senior Operations Specialist to provide Operations support and user perspective to the Army’s Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO) by providing subject matter expertise to the RCCTO’s Deputy Director for Advanced Concepts and Experimentation (ACE).  This position will be located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

 

Responsibilities:

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

  • Using your experience, evaluate and/or assess potential technologies for rapid acquisition in order to provide an informed assessment of the capability’s relevance to the Army.
  • Provide the ACE operationally informed subject matter expertise, recommendations and assessments.
  • Maintain relationships with the Army’s Combat Training Centers (CTC) in order to stay abreast of the latest operational trends, challenges, seams and gaps with current Army systems and technology.
  • Through established relationships with the CTCs, find venues to demonstrate potential new technologies.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the Army Component Commands of the Combatant Commands (COCOM) to understand technology capability gaps within their respective AORs.
  • Through the relationships with the Component Commands, monitor unit deployments to identify opportunities for evaluating prototypes and new technologies during pre-deployment training and subsequent deployments to the respective COCOM’s area of responsibility.
  • Track Army doctrine and defense industry trends to identify and evaluate possible technologies to fill accelerated requirement needs.
  • Gain and maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of evolving Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) concepts and doctrine to inform assessments of capabilities needed to enable MDO.
  • Provide context, background and explanation of Army terms and topics to the civilian workforce in the ACE and the RCCTO.

Qualifications

  • Retired Army officer with both operational and staff experience.
  • Experience with Army research and development (R&D) activities and efforts.
  • Understanding of the Department of Defense’s and U.S. Army’s R&D and acquisition processes. 

Desired:

  • Experience working in an organizational Headquarters run by a general officer or SES.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s preferred.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Current Top Secret clearance. SCI eligibility is preferred.
