MTSI is seeking candidates with experience and/or desire to perform six degree of freedom (6-DOF) simulations of BMD interceptors, ballistic and non-ballistic threat missiles and/or tactical missiles. This position involves the use of Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) Algorithms and missile physics model development. Candidates will have the opportunity to work closely with senior and junior level engineers supporting numerous on-going Missile Defense Agency missile programs.
The modeling and simulation environment is primarily Windows based using FORTRAN, C/C++ and MATLAB. Experience with Linux & Python is a plus. Candidates must have strong desire and/or capability to perform potential new missile model development and ability to transverse existing missile models to make model updates, debug model performance to ensure model accuracy and functionality. Experience with missile Guidance, Navigation and Control Algorithms design and evaluation is a big plus. Experience with Physics modeling (i.e. Aerodynamic, Propulsion, Control Actuators, Guidance Sensors, Warheads, etc.) and Tracking Sensors ( Radars, Overhead IR Sensor, Kalman Filter design) is also desired. Successful candidates should be able to work independently with as-need assistance from Senior engineers and have good communication skills and ability to construct Briefing packages to convey analysis results. Ability to write MATLAB Scripts (M-Code) to perform 6-DOF Pre & Post processing of simulation data is desired. Position will be in Government Customer facility with varying levels of customer interaction based on candidate capability and/or desire.
