Responsibilities

The System Engineering SETA will support the oversight and management of the component integration at the stakeholder locations.  The SETA will coordinate and deconflict schedules between the operational sites, program managers and Program Executive Offices, and future transition facilities.  This position will be based at government facilities in Chantilly, Virginia with regular travel to Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia; Arlington, Virginia; and Ft Meade, Maryland.

 

The SETA will support the execution and continuing development of a cyber threat detection exchange program across active operational deployments.  Executions include working with multiple disparate offices within the client site’s task force, along with other working groups consisting of similar, often competing, programs.  SETA will be responsible for establishing plans to incorporate network security operations, Defense Cyber Effects Operations, Cyber Counterintelligence Operations, engineering teams, senior DoD and FBI leadership and executive stakeholders.  The SETA will be required to identify and plan system integration requirements, manage schedules, support test & evaluation processes, enforce timelines and mitigate risk to program schedules. Deliverables include, but are not limited to, creating program overviews, establishing and hosting Integrated Product Teams, project cost estimates, project recommendations, status reports and executive presentations.

 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple projects with broad scope, ambiguity, and high degree of difficulty
  • Demonstrate sufficient knowledge of a wide range of cyber sensor technologies
  • Expert with a high level of analytical ability where problems are typically unusual and difficult – gather, interpret and articulate complex qualitative or quantitative data
  • Maintain a working knowledge of DoD Cyber Operations and Cyber Counterintelligence Operational principles and elements
  • Ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Identify and document security, backup, and redundancy strategies for future expansion efforts
  • Liaise with vendors, other performers, and other IT personnel for problem resolution

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.  Master’s degree preferred. 
  • 10+ years of systems engineering, program management, information technology, management information systems or equivalent
  • Structured project management experience with FBI or DoD-related initiatives
  • Broad experience in creating and managing program management tools, including but not limited to Integrated Master Schedules and Milestone Planning.
  • General experience in computer and network systems, including IT security and system integration
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and make decisions and recommendations with limited data
  • Solid analytical/problem-solving skills with capability to identify solutions to unusual and complex problems

Clearance:

  • Top Secret clearance with in-scope SSBI and current SCI (TS/SCI); experience working on classified and special access programs
