Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking multiple Operations Research Analyst's to join our growing team.  You will perform as a quantitative analyst utilizing a background in operations research, statistics, systems engineering, or a related field.  You will interact daily with Air Force program managers and industry subject matter experts across multiple domains (air, space, cyber).

Responsibilities

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking multiple Operations Research Analyst's to join our growing team.  You will provide quantitative analyst utilizing your background in operations research, statistics, systems engineering, or a related field.  You will frame conceptual challenges, developing and documenting methodologies to quantitatively analyze those challenges, and lead/guide/support the execution of studies, analyses, and assessments.  Utilizing studies and analyses, you will make recommendations regarding the military utility, feasibility, and affordability of the concepts and capabilities under study. You will interact daily with Air Force program managers and industry subject matter experts across multiple domains (air, space, cyber).  The position is in the Northern California region.

 

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

  • Provide expertise concerning the validity of assumptions made and the criteria by which alternatives are recommended, as well as advise and recommend new techniques, innovations, and technical and scientific advancements which may serve as a means of overcoming multiple domain (Aviation, Space, Cyber) operational issues.
  • Responsible for mission-level development planning efforts.
  • Experience in applying analyses and assessment methods to problems regarding:
    • Strategic and operational planning
    • Current operations
    • Emerging issues
    • Requirements
    • Acquisitions
    • Mission support
  • Experience in both conducting and managing; research, experiments and tests, and analysis of new information, systems and equipment.
  • Ability to develops new concepts, methods, and techniques helping to solve scientific and operational problems.
  • Developing equation-based, numerical, or statistical methods and/or agent-based models.
  • Analyzing management problems and providing advice and insight about the probable effects of alternative solutions to these problems.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years’ experience in operations research and systems engineering experience in experimental design and can capably apply design principles to include:
    • Cogent problem definition, explicitly state study assumptions, limitations, and constraints.
    • Develop appropriate performance and effectiveness measures.
    • Be able to clearly formulate analysis methodology.
  • Proven history of using advanced quantitative methods to solve problems and delivering actionable analytics.
  • Experience with R, Python, MATLAB, SAS, or JMP
  • Experience with Excel VBA
  • The ability to work in a collaborative environment within and across business areas by taking shared ownership of results.
  • Experience and familiarity with the aviation and/or space domains.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or advanced degree in physical sciences.
  • Master's degree in an engineering or advanced degree in physical sciences (DESIRED).

Clearance Requirements

  • TS/SCI (SAP/SAR Eligible)
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position
