MTSI is seeking a System Engineer to support to the Rapid Acquisition Prototyping Project Office (RAPPO) under the U.S. Army Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO) in Ft. Belvoir, VA. Provide guidance to the program and customer on applicable systems engineering documents as well as feedback and coaching to facilitate the smooth development and implementation of program changes. RAPPO’s projects vary in types of technologies and typically last 1-3 years.  Duties will include:


  • Support the Government team with all tasks (including preparing meeting minutes, executive summaries, and developing PowerPoint presentations) needed to make decisions about the execution of program resources, planning, and implementation.
  • Actively participate in project reviews and working integrated product team meetings, documenting major decisions.
  • Collaborate and liaise with various project stakeholders and their prime contractors, including joint efforts with other Department of Defense entities. 
  • Collaborate with the Government customer, other team members, and prime contractors in developing and reviewing engineering documentation (e.g., system/subsystem requirements specifications, interface control document (ICD), interface requirements specification (IRS).
  • Ensure IPT and program-level risks are tracked with associated mitigation plans, and facilitate reporting for monthly Program Management Reviews.
  • Utilize digital tools to improve engineering processes. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Required Skills:

  • Able to perform all functional duties independently and in a team environment.
  • Active Secret Clearance (Top Secret is preferred). 

Required Experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience supporting development of DoD systems or capabilities.
  • Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline (i.e. engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science)
