Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have the following responsibilities along with the following qualifications.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Stay current on the Missile Defense System (MDS) Technical Baseline as it evolves
  • Develop the conceptual basis for MDS M&S system-level requirements
  • Write and maintain MDS M&S system-level requirements
  • Collaborate with MDS M&S development organizations and stakeholders
  • Self-starter, capable of planning and managing one's own assignments with minimal guidance
  • Innately curious, one who has a passion for learning in broad areas and receives instruction well
  • Detail oriented, capable of keeping track of details and communicating their relationships to the larger whole
  • Team player, capable of establishing and working in groups
  • Effective communicator, skilled in oral, written, and interpersonal communications

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related technical discipline (Master of Science is preferred)
  • Full security clearance at the SECRET level

Essential Experience

  • Knowledgeable in the kinds of sensors, battle managers, weapons, and communications used in U.S. military weapon systems
  • Capable of developing useful abstract models of real-world structures, behavior, and performance, understanding the sufficient level of detail needed to model a given problem
  • Capable of developing correctly working and usable software-intensive simulations
  • Skilled in fundamental systems engineering (SE) standards and practices, with emphasis on applying them in Acknowledged Systems of Systems

Desirable Experience

  • Knowledgeable in Modeling and Simulation of defense systems
  • Experienced with MDS or component-level real-time, user-interactive distributed simulation systems (e.g., Ground Test, Exercises, Training), or analytical M&S such as EADSIM, WILMA, SABER
  • Experienced with requirements development and management
  • Capable of integrating distributed simulations
  • Skilled in fundamental software engineering (SwE) standards and practices

Essential Software Skills

  • Microsoft Word (or comparable word processing software)
  • Microsoft Excel (or comparable spreadsheet software)
  • Microsoft PowerPoint (or comparable presentation software)

Desirable Software Skills

  • DOORS Next Generation (or comparable requirements management software)
  • Rhapsody (or comparable modeling software)
  • Vi (or comparable text editing software)
  • Beyond Compare (or comparable graphical difference software)
