MTSI is actively seeking seasoned software engineers to support its independent verification and validation team responsible for the assessment and evaluation Department of Defense (DoD) Weapon Systems software.  Selected candidates will work with a team of highly skilled software professionals who are performing a rigorous in-depth look at source code specifications, architecture, design, coding and testing to ensure the software is secure, safe, and maintainable and meets the Missile Defense Agency’s expectations.



  • Configure and maintain SW development environments for source code compilation both legacy and new code.
  • Develop scripts for unit testing of source code functions/modules
  • Conduct functional decomposition of software modules to assess execution
  • Evaluate external software interfaces to insure they are secure
  • Conduct assessment of code coverage and path execution
  • Execution of analytic tool suites to capture software code complexity metrics both static and dynamic
  • Identify and assess software vulnerabilities and exploits
  • Support stressing, off nominal, and penetration test activities against software
  • Develop technical finding reports and presentation briefs for leadership


  • Associate degree or working towards BS degree in a technical discipline with 0-3 years of experience required, or BS degree in Software Engineering, Mathematics or Computer Science is preferred
  • Understanding of lifecycle software development
  • Familiarity with source code compilation and Integrated Development Environments
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux Operating Systems
  • Self-starter, have strong written and verbal communication skills and be capable of working in a team environment

Highly Desirable Skills:

  • Prior software development experience in ADA or C++
  • Experience with code analysis tools (Coverity, Klockworks, AdaCore, Parasoft or Fortify)
  • Experience with Agile process implementation tools such as JIRA
  • Experience in GMD and domain knowledge of Ground Systems components to include (GFC, IDT, LMS)

Clearance Requirements:

Ability to obtain DoD SECRET clearance is REQUIRED
