Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will operate primarily out of a government facility supporting the Missile Defense Agency’s Engineering Simulation program.  This position involves hands-on support for MDA’s distributed software threat simulation used in the testing of and training on MDA’s tactical systems.  Tasks include installation and configuration of the simulation software, troubleshooting and root cause analysis of anomalies and defects, and the providing of technical support during various MDA activities. These tasks will primarily be performed in the local government facility but may also require support in various other CONUS and OCONUS locations.  In support of these tasks, the qualified candidate is expected to adhere to current processes and procedures, participate in document reviews, attend limited meetings, provide status as requested, and collaborate with team members in person and electronically.  The candidate is expected to be self-sufficient in the execution of these integration responsibilities within six months.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily participation on a team that develops and implements integration processes as the environment matures from a prototype to a formal Modeling and Simulation Enterprise
  • Integration of the element and component models of the Prototype to feed the design and testing of war games and exercises
  • Serve as an Integration and Test Engineer and technical representative to the government.
  • Support users across the community with data retrieval.
  • Coordinate with model developers during integration.
  • Identify and resolve enterprise level, system of systems issues.
  • Assist in conduct of top level enterprise integration risk assessments.
  • Ensure consistent integration and test processes across M&S environments.
  • Ensure consistent systems engineering processes across the M&S system.
  • Report Integration, system of systems, status to government and program managers.
  • Draft technical instructions, test plans, and other system integration related documents.
  • Perform other integration duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's BS in Engineering, Mathematics or Computer Science from an accredited university.
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years directly related experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the BMDS system. 

Required Skills:

  • Experience with hardware/software/network integration
  • Experience with troubleshooting hardware and software defects
  • Working knowledge of the Linux operating system (or other Unix variants)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Capabilities/Experience:

  • Experience with hardware/software/network integration
  • Experience with troubleshooting hardware and software defects
  • Experience with Ballistic Missile Defense programs
  • System Engineering Requirements Support for exercises
  • System Test requirements for verification of new capabilities

Security Clearance Requirements:   

  • This position requires the selected candidate have an active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
