Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities: 

As the Director of Strategic Development for MTSI, you will be responsible for leading strategic business development initiatives and engaging across the MTSI Enterprise to support delivery of high quality, rapid, end-to-end services and solutions to current and new customers.  The Director of Strategic Development is responsible to support the identification and capture of new business and long-term cultivation of customer and industry partner relationships, along with developing, identifying, and qualifying new strategic opportunities for MTSI. This individual will report to the Vice President of Business Development and coordinate business development opportunities across the MTSI Business Development Enterprise.

 

  • Support executive leadership and key MTSI stakeholders in developing new market strategies and customer diversification initiatives, inclusive of long-term goals/objectives and key risk identification and mitigation strategies
  • Lead Strategic Opportunity Capture Initiatives across a diverse set of markets and customers, inclusive of Strategic Sourcing contract vehicles and initiatives
  • Support development of strategic growth strategies and plans
  • Facilitate cross-functional business development team collaboration and drive successful execution across a diverse enterprise
  • Support development and refinement of strategic pipeline and alignment of resources required to successfully meet long-term goals and objectives
  • Develop and proliferate the use of business development processes, training and tools to aid in the pursuit of new business activities
  • Analyze and identify market trends and opportunities and develop strategies to capture new business in coordination with other company team members
  • Analyze and identify opportunities for support/teaming with current and potential industry partners, ensuring proper coordination among multiple corporate efforts
  • Lead and drive opportunity identification, qualification, shaping and positioning for programs that support a diverse portfolio of mission sets
  • Participation in forums/conferences to further position MTSI as a thought leader for MTSI core competencies, differentiated capabilities, and other associated customer mission sets and capabilities
  • Support other duties as assigned

Qualifications

 

Qualifications: 

  • 15+ years of experience
  • 10+ years in a business development leadership role, preferably in the defense and/or aerospace industry
  • Ability to travel
  • Technical and Business Development Leadership Experience
  • Ability to work effectively and cultivate strong relationships across all levels of the organization and with external partners
  • Must have extensive knowledge of the DoD, IC, and/or Civil Government and Commercial market landscape
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to be a leader in exemplifying MTSI Core Values
  • Must have demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment
  • Must be able to plan and organize time to work productively and efficiently while being able to adjust to changes in priorities and schedules
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated record of success in leading development and execution of strategic business development initiatives (consistent with a growing $300M/yr company)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, collaborate, facilitate, and achieve consensus across multiple stakeholders 
  • Demonstrated record of successful new business/new market capture management experience

 

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree Required (Technical Degree Preferred aligned with MTSI Core Competencies - Modeling & Simulation, Test & Evaluation, System Engineering & Integration, Mission Assurance and Cyber Security, Unmanned Systems)
  • Masters or MBA Degree Preferred

Security Clearance:

  • Current Secret Clearance Required

US Citizenship is required for this position due to contract requirements.
