We are seeking a Scientist/Engineer to join a high performing team supporting an MDA research program developing a next generation architecture for Ballistic Missile Defense Discrimination and Automated Threat Characterization.
Candidate will work collaboratively in a team to assist in developing cutting edge algorithms for ballistic missile defense discrimination, scene and event characterization, contextual learning and estimation, sensor to sensor handover, and sensor signal and image processing. Candidate will help develop and test algorithms that will be used in field experimentation and conduct post-test analysis of sensor and algorithm performance. Highly creative and flexible approaches are the goal and out-side-box thinking is critical.
The work will be performed in a new classified lab at the MTSI office in Research Park.
Candidate should possess a solid working knowledge and experience base in the development of algorithms related to the technology areas above. Data for exploitation will be focused on EO/IR and RADAR sensor systems. Understanding these phenomenologies and sensors is highly useful although training by a team of subject matter experts is an expected part of the process. Algorithm areas of interest include detection, tracking, track association and correlation, machine learning, image processing, command and control, cognitive function, and discrimination.
Experience with Neural networks, deep neural networks, cognitive processing in various domains (radio, radar, controls) and machine learning for classification or characterization is Highly desired. Experience with estimation techniques, kalman filters, extended kalman filters maximum likelihood estimation and similar technologies is also an area of interest.
* Software development skills and operating system experience include but are not limited to: Matlab, C/C++, Java Python, FORTRAN, Windows and Linux operating systems.
* Experience with the fusion multisource data is desired.
* Bachelors Degree in Physics, Mathematics or Electrical Engineering required. Advanced degree desired.
* Active Security Clearance required
